Foothill Kids is our weekend environment where K-5th graders become confident in God’s character by engaging God and being connected to others. It is comprised of worship, large group teaching and small group discussion.
Worship is always fun, usually loud, and at times involves dancing.
Large Group is our teaching time. All K-5th graders stay together for this part. Lead Teachers are continually striving to find creative ways to engage children with truth. We use object lessons, drama, storytelling, demonstrations and anything else we can think of to display the greatness and worth of God. We focus on one virtue (i.e., honesty, humility, etc) each month and help kids connect those virtues with the Bible and real life.
Small Groups are the meat and potatoes of Foothill Kids. We believe that the gospel should be engaged in community, even during the elementary years. Small groups are facilitated by adult leaders. They are covenant members of FOOTHILLCHURCH and serve on a regular basis. Kids are divided into small groups based on grade and gender. During small group, students discuss the key point for the weekend by looking at Scripture, engaging in discussion and asking questions. Small groups also spend time praying as well as playing games that reinforce our key theme for the month.
